The Cultural Autumn, the Festival of the Arts, presents its 39th edition with a wide range of music, dance, visual arts and literature in 29 municipalities.
This initiative, aligned with cultural decentralization, offers free entertainment for citizens.
The Secretary of Culture and the Arts (SEDECULTA), Loreto Villanueva Trujillo, revealed that the festival will take place from October 12 to 29, with 172 events.
She highlighted that 42 will take place in the interior of the state and 12 in plazas and shopping malls, with a joint investment of 4.5 million pesos from the federal and state governments.
The festival will count with the participation of around 2,000 artists of diverse disciplines, including dance, music, literature, visual and performing arts.
This will promote the participation of the local artistic community, said the state official.
Merida will host 130 events, including presentations in places such as nursing homes and retirement centers.
There will be a wide variety of concerts, dances and theatrical performances, with local and international artists from Colombia, Cuba, Chile, Finland, Peru and Japan.
Fiesta de las Artes begins in Tekax
The inaugural concert will be on October 12 at 8:00 pm at the “Ricardo Palmerín” Convention Center in Tekax.
It will be given by the Orquesta Típica Yukalpetén, the Ballet Folklórico del Estado de Yucatán and other outstanding artists.
In addition, the festival will include a funeral procession on October 28, which will be followed by the Delirio Teatral.
The Otoño Cultural will take place in 29 municipalities, in theaters, commercial plazas, nursing homes, shelters, and other cultural venues in Mérida.
