Yucatecan investors continue to endorse their confidence in Yucatan with more projects that generate opportunities for Yucatecans, which has resulted in the establishment of a new Suzuki Motors dealership in the Yucatecan capital, which was inaugurated by Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal and represents the creation of 80 jobs for families in the state, as well as an investment of 60 million pesos.
In the northern zone of the city’s ring road, Vila Dosal, accompanied by the director of Suzuki Motor de México, Takayuki Iguchi, and the director of Suzuki Mérida and vice president of the San Francisco de Asís Group, José Antonio Abraham Xacur, led the opening of the second agency of this group in the state, which reaffirms the state as an ideal place to invest.
In his message, the Governor congratulated Grupo San Francisco de Asís for its expansion in the state, as the opening of this branch is a clear reflection of the historic moment that is being experienced in Yucatán thanks to the teamwork of Yucatecans.
In this sense, Vila Dosal recalled that we are living an unprecedented moment in the entity and proof of this, 2021 has been the year with the highest economic growth in the history of Yucatan and with greater job generation; while 2021 was the year with more direct foreign investment, with more tourists and safer.
Accompanied by the head of the Ministry of Economic Development and Labor, Ernesto Herrera Novelo, and local deputy Víctor Hugo Lozano Poveda, the Governor pointed out that his government is aware that what helps people to get out of poverty are well-paid jobs and, proof that we are doing well, in July, in the country, family income increased by 11%, but in Yucatán it grew to 16%; Furthermore, among the Yucatecans who earn the least in the last two years, their salary increased by 44%, while at the national level it only increased by 17%.
In addition, he indicated that, according to CONEVAL, we were able to lift 236,000 Yucatecans out of poverty, which is 10% of our total population; this is the best figure we have ever obtained in our history.
Before Hideki Takata, operating director of Suzuki Motor de México, and Mauricio Arcila González, director of the Automotive Division of Grupo San Francisco de Asís, he stated that this is the reality of what is happening in the state today, and for this to be permanent, the foundations are being laid for the Yucatán of the next 30 years with projects such as the two combined cycle power plants, the expansion of the natural gas pipeline, the modernization of the Port of Progreso, and the Tren Maya (Mayan Train).
“Important companies are coming to Yucatán, so as a government we are working to continue this growth and improve conditions, but at the same time take care of the environment, our customs and traditions,” concluded Vila Dosal.
In his turn, the director of Suzuki Motor Mexico highlighted the work done by the local group and local authorities that has made this opening a reality in favor of the brand’s customers.
For his part, Abraham Xacur reiterated his commitment to the state and society of Yucatan, while thanking the State Government for its full support for the start-up of the dealership.
“What is certain is that we will continue to invest in order to continue providing more growth and benefits to Yucatecans,” said the Yucatecan businessman.
In his remarks, the Mayor of Merida, Renan Barrera Concha, emphasized that the municipal and state authorities are working in coordination to create the ideal conditions for investment in the city and, therefore, in Yucatan, generating a climate of security and quality public services.
“We appreciate the confidence that you as investors show towards our city and state that translates into new jobs for Yucatecans with the corresponding well-being for their families,” he expressed.
Absolutely all local economic sectors, he added, have made a great effort in Yucatan to strengthen and increase their competitive advantages, and it is up to us, as authorities, to maintain it in terms of security and legal certainty.
He also pointed out that the increase of investments in the city contributes to generate more job opportunities for families and to continue with the economic development of the Municipality.
In this context, Vila Dosal witnessed the national launch and unveiling of the new Suzuki Grand Vitara, a new state-of-the-art vehicle that joins the ranks of the Japanese brand. He also toured the areas where services will be offered.
