In protest and discontent, more than 600 Ejidatarios from Chunyaxche and Annexes of Felipe Carrillo Puerto blocked the Tulum “Felipe Carrillo Puerto” International Airport on Friday, October 27.

Their main demand is the regulation of some 5,900 hectares of land.

Since 5:00 a.m., the community members congregated on federal highway 307, on the Cecilio Chi – Muyil stretch, blocking the access to the airport and obstructing the operation of hundreds of construction workers.

Their message was clear and forceful, demanding that the commitments must be fulfilled.

The banners displayed at the site expressed their frustration:

– “The ejido of Chunyaxche expresses its disagreement with Mr. Fajardo and federal government officials for not fulfilling commitments.”

– “President Lopez Obrador, keep your word, do not forget the principles of the 4T”.

– “We demand that the President of the Republic Andrés Manuel López Obrador comply with the commitments he signed with us, the Ejidatarios, an urgent solution is needed!”.

Jacinto Canul Pacheco, president of the ejido commissioner, emphasized that there is a signed commitment dating from the beginning of the work that has not yet been fulfilled. The Ejidatarios are determined to maintain their blockade until they are given a solution to their demands.
