Alleged murder victim found in Mérida

A police operation occurred on Tuesday, November 7, due to the discovery of a corpse in a field near the Molas-San José Tzal road.

Authorities in Yucatán report that the investigations to clarify the facts related to the discovery of the body are “very advanced.” According to a statement, with the evidence obtained by agents of the State Investigative Police (PEI) of the Ministry of Security Public (SSP) and the Public Ministry, it is possible to affirm that this event has no relationship with organized crime.

In the process against those likely involved, the authorities are in the process of requesting various proceedings before a judge. The victim, whose body was covered with sheets and garbage bags, is an individual originally from Mexico City who had accumulated more than 50 admissions to public prison for various reasons.
