The National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi) presented the results of the Monthly Indicator of Industrial Activity by Federal Entity (IMAIEF), with figures adjusted to the month of July 2023.
The analysis indicates that the Mexican states that recorded the most pronounced monthly growth in their industrial activity, in real terms, were:
- San Luis Potosi
- Nayarit
- Yucatan
- Quintana Roo
- Aguascalientes
During the seventh month of 2023, at an annual rate and with seasonally adjusted series, the states that presented the most significant increases in their industrial production, in real terms, were: Quintana Roo, San Luis Potosí, Aguascalientes, Oaxaca, and Colima.
According to original data and at an annual rate, in July of this year, in the Mining sector, the increases reported in Colima, Tabasco, Baja California, Quintana Roo, and Querétaro stood out.
In the case of Generation, transmission, distribution, and marketing of electrical energy, and supply of water and natural gas through pipelines to the final consumer, the increases in Colima, Mexico, Campeche and Aguascalientes stood out.
In Construction, the most relevant increases occurred in Quintana Roo, Campeche, Oaxaca, and Durango.
In the case of Manufacturing Industries, the highest advances were recorded in San Luis Potosí, Aguascalientes, Sonora, and Yucatán.
The following graph shows the annual variations and state contributions for the total Monthly Indicator of Industrial Activity and for the sectors of economic activities that comprise it.
In it, you can see that Quintana Roo was the Mexican state that appears in the first places of variation and annual contribution of industrial activity throughout the country.
The Inegi clarifies that the IMAIEF is prepared with the purpose of expanding the offer of short-term statistical information and monitoring the evolution of secondary activities in the states.
