The number of hotel rooms is growing rapidly, it is expected that before the end of the year 800 more rooms will be opened in the state of Yucatan, which currently stands at 15,726″, said Juan José Martín Pacheco, president of the Mexican Association of Hotels of Yucatán, (AMHY).

The president of the group pointed out that the most important week for the tourism sector begins next Friday, since for Buen Fin promotions are generated in the tourism-hotel sector, including gastronomic offers.

“This coming weekend is one of the most important we have, not only the hoteliers, but the entire tourism industry, because in addition to the Buen Fin, where visitors begin to make their reservations because of the promotions they take out, everything is also coming the Flavors of Yucatán program, which is promoted by the State Government and which attracts many people from outside,” he explained.

“Likewise, we begin the Christmas season where the posadas take place, the events with the closing of the year of the companies and in the same way comes the Guadalupe-Reyes, from December 12 to January 6, where we also have many events, Christmas dinners , New Year’s Eve dinners, in short, it’s coming strong,” he added.

Likewise, he emphasized that the arrival of tourism is expected, not only in Mérida, but also in archaeological zones, magical towns, beaches, municipalities and other attractions of the entity.

On the other hand, he stressed that rooms continue to be opened, we have already reached almost 16 thousand rooms; However, around 800 will be added to these.

“The opening of more rooms causes us a great challenge, because this is growing rapidly in Yucatán, this because a great investment is being generated derived from the safety, the quality of the people, the hospitality and the products that are available in the entity. , because they have caused people to have the vision of coming to the state not only to visit, but to live and invest” he concluded.
