A Saturday get together “among friends” had a fatal end in Mérida’s Lázaro Cárdenas neighborhood as a popular tire maker from the area lost his life.
It was reported that on Saturday, December 2nd, in a property located on the corner of 10th and 57th Streets of the aforementioned neighborhood, two individuals started drinking at noon, but hours later, things got out of control and the outcome was a fatal one.
The host, identified by the nickname of “Baby”, was a well-known tire dealer in that area, who lived there with his sister.
Late into the night, the two men began an argument that went from words to blows, until the guest took a knife and attacked “Baby” repeatedly until he took his life.
Upon seeing what happened, the man’s sister went out to the street to ask for help, and the neighbors called 911.
Within minutes, the area was full of agents from the Ministry of Public Security (SSP) who arrested the aggressor, as well as the woman, while investigations into the case were carried out.
Paramedics confirmed that the man known as “Baby” no longer had vital signs, so the attention of the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) was requested to remove the body.
Agents of the PEI State Investigation Police of the Homicide and Injury Command, as well as the State Attorney General’s Office, began the corresponding investigations into the events to determine probable responsibilities.
