Agents of the Secretary of the Navy seized 850 boxes with 510 thousand packs of cigarettes inside, which were confiscated in the port of Progreso, in Yucatán.
As reported in a statement, the operation was carried out a few days ago on a Liberian-flagged container ship, coming from Montreal, Canada, as part of the routine.
In this process, together with the National Customs Agency of Mexico (ANAM), 850 boxes were detected with 510 thousand packs of cigarettes inside, and 41 boxes containing 820 plastic cups were also located, verifying the legal origin of the merchandise. with the corresponding customs documentation.
Given the situation, the product was seized as a precaution and placed at the disposal of the corresponding authorities, to continue with the corresponding investigation.
