This weekend, the businesses in Gran Parque de la Plancha will begin to operate with natural gas, the businesses on 47th Street, in one more week, and it is expected that in approximately two months the entire center of Mérida will be working with natural gas, With this they will reduce LP gas consumption by 40 percent.

This was reported by Mauricio Ceballos Pantoja, public relations manager of Mi Gas Natural, adding that they are already working in the west of the city supplying natural gas to Kekén, Grupo Modelo, Envases Universales, Botanas la Lupita, and 50 businesses including restaurants, laundries and tortilla shops.

Although he did not specify the amount of gas they would release in total, he said that they would start with approximately 5,000 to 6,000 gigajoules per month, but that this number may increase as demand increases.

“The contracts are just being signed and as it is used the same people are recommending the service, but we are starting with around 5 to 6 thousand gigajoules per month, which are the businesses that are in the plan, and the gastronomic corridor, already between hotels and others would be approximately 280 businesses in the center of Mérida operating with natural gas.”

He pointed out that they took advantage of the remodeling of the downtown gastronomic corridor, both the part that corresponds to the City Council and the part that corresponds to the State Government, to be able to integrate the infrastructure, in such a way that all the businesses in the center can have natural gas and lower its consumption around 40 percent.
