AMLO threatens not to attend the North American Leaders Summit
Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said he might not go to the North American Leaders’ Summit if Canada and the United States do not stop treating Mexico as the root of all their problems.
“Now Canada also wants to take measures against Mexico. We are very sorry for that. We are in a negotiation to reach an agreement so that we can control migratory flows to Canada.” AMLO stated.
López Obrador assured during the morning that he would not attend the North American Leaders Summit “if there is not a respectful treatment for the government of Mexico.”
Although he rectified that he has a good relationship with Joe Biden and Justin Trudeau, his counterparts, he argued that “there is a lot of stalking.”
The president also said that he only has seven months left and does not like to travel much, suggesting that there could be other reasons for him not to attend the Summit.
