The mayor of Mérida Alejandro Ruz Castro announced today the new electric scooter service in the tourist corridor from the city center to the Monumento a la Patria and La Plancha Park.
Without giving many details because in the coming days he will announce this new program, Ruz Castro reported, during an interview after the inauguration of the National Meeting of Municipalities and Citizen Participation at the Siglo XXI Convention Center, that this program seeks an improvement in the most environmentally friendly mobility, as is the case with En Bici, a program that will remain free for the rest of the current municipal administration.
This program will increase from 600 bicycles to 1,200 because it helps people’s mobility Mérida has the financial and operational resources to maintain this successful program. The mayor pointed out that there are requests for several routes to expand En Bici and they will implement stops with their respective vehicles.
