Problems at Banco del Bienestar and BBVA in Yucatán due to network failures

Users and clients of the BBVA and Banco de Bienestar banks in Yucatán faced serious problems yesterday, March 1, in carrying out their banking operations due to failures in their digital network.

BBVA branches informed their hundreds of clients and account holders that the bank’s “system went down” throughout the country.

For this reason, they would not be able to make withdrawals and deposits at the cash registers or make monetary transfers electronically.

It should be noted that, as it is the beginning of the month, one day after the payment of the fortnight, the movement in the banks was intense today.

Bank employees at the Kukulcán branch admitted that they did not know when the system would return, so they recommended people return on Monday.

Only the ATMs worked, where money could be withdrawn, which was the most carried out operation of the day.

The failure annoyed users because they had to make payments for cards that expired today or make transfers, but they could not. In the branches of Banco del Bienestar de Mérida, belonging to the Federal government, account holders also faced serious problems because the money in the electronic ATMs ran out, the cashier system failed or it was suspended momentarily, which delayed each operation.
