The engineer and representative of the Xok k’iin collective, Bernardo Caamal Itzá, was invited to participate as a panelist in the annual Science and the Public event, held by the University of Wisconsin-Madison 2024.

The participation of the expert in Mayan issues concluded on Friday, March 8, after days of intense activity, between radio talks and the university agenda, as reported on his Facebook page.

Caamal Itzá exchanged experiences about his work in the Mayan culture, before the students and academics of that university in the United States, which promotes research.

During the meeting, the documentary “Mayaland: listening to the Bees” was also screened, in which Caamal Itzá participated.

Likewise, he had the opportunity to present his book “The Stories in the sáastun del Arux”, which narrates the community work that he has carried out in recent years in the Mayan communities, the importance of the cornfield and its ceremonies, and the role of women. and the mother in the Mayan culture.

On the other hand, the engineer reported on Facebook that Uady invited him to present his book at the Yucatán International Reading Fair (Filey) next Tuesday the 12th, from 11:45 to 12:45 p.m., in the Uxmal 2 room of the Siglo XXI Convention Center, in Mérida. Another notable project of the promoter of the rights of the Mayans is his space on the radio “La Voz de los Mayas”.
