After the events that occurred last week regarding the slaughter of dogs, a group of people took to the streets of Peto to ask for justice and to point out animal abuse.

In a previous edition, it was announced about the incident recorded on 39th Street between 18 and 16 in the Benito Juárez neighborhood, where the death of nine dogs due to poisoning was recorded.

The current City Council filed a lawsuit with the State Attorney General’s Office to carry out the proper investigations and find the cause of these acts that ended up in tragedy. The Health authorities took care of the deceased dogs.

All the dogs were lifted by the Personnel of the Veterinary Forensic Service and agents of the State Investigation Police.

So, on Saturday, March 16th, at 7:00 p.m. a group of around 40 people wore t-shirts, carried orange banners, and took to the roads to ask for justice for the death of these dogs.

The tour began in the domes of the Francisco Sarabia neighborhood where with posters that contained messages such as “No to animal abuse” “It is not worth it” “We are their voices” “We want results” and “They are also living beings and have feelings.” The protesters marched peacefully along 45th Street, then walked on 28th Street towards the first square.

Upon arriving at the main park, citizens formed up and raised their voices waiting for results and for the culprit to be subject to the laws corresponding to his actions.

After several minutes, the posters were posted in different public spaces to raise awareness among the population not to commit this type of atrocity.

Some people who were present at the march mentioned that there is nothing crueler than ending the life of a defenseless dog through poisoning, because these are acts that should not be committed, however, for this reason, they came out way calm to be heard and so that this situation does not go unnoticed.
