The Francis Scott Key Bridge collapsed after the accidental impact of a cargo ship early this Tuesday March 25 in the city of Baltimore, in the state of Maryland, USA, which led to the report of at least seven people missing after the tragic event, among which are at least three Mexicans.
Emergency services personnel indicated that they rescued two people, one of them in serious condition; However, there are three missing people from Mexico, two Guatemalans, one Honduran, and one Salvadoran, according to information held by RT correspondent Helena Villar.
The journalist reported from Baltimore that she spoke with one of the companions of the seven missing people, who released details about the nationalities of the people who fell into the water after the ship hit the bridge structure.
The Mexicans, according to the report, respond to the names of Carlos, Alex, and Julio, and were working in the port of Baltimore on the night shift from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., so they were in full workday when they were surprised by the accident.
“We are in Baltimore. We have spoken exclusively and live with one of the colleagues of the six people missing due to the collapse of the bridge. They are all immigrant workers: “At least two Mexicans, two Guatemalans, one Honduran and one Salvadoran,” Helena Villar said through her X account, formerly Twitter.
The Mexican Embassy in the United States offered its support to the Mexicans involved in the accident at the Francis Scott Key port; However, it did not provide information on the number of people missing after the event.
