A spectacular rollover took place at kilometer 19 of the eastern periphery of this city, when a young driver who was intoxicated lost control of his Volkswagen Bora Sedan and ended up in a ravine.
According to eyewitness accounts, the driver was traveling on the outside lane when, apparently, he fell asleep at the wheel, which caused his car to fall into the ravine and overturn spectacularly.
Motorists stopped to help to the young man involved in the traffic incident.
However, witnesses pointed out the driver was in a deep state of drunkenness, which led to the intervention of the authorities, who proceeded to arrest him.
The incident generated complications in traffic, and it was necessary for tow truck personnel to remove the Volkswagen model with Yucatan plates number YWP-844-D, and restore traffic shortly before nine in the morning on Saturday, April 20.
It should be noted that, despite the severity of the accident, no injuries were reported.
