Ecological Police point out that it could be a Hawksbill turtle

Progreso recorded its first turtle nesting this year. The sighting of the chelonian occurred this Tuesday morning at Pig Beach, by personnel from the Ecological Police on duty at the facilities for the care of the piglets, who observed the presence of a chelonian on the beach.

The director of the Ecological Police, Obdulio Mena, pointed out that this is the first turtle nesting point registered this year and marks the beginning of the arrival period of specimens of this species to lay their eggs on the beach.
