The race starts in Yucatán, covering Campeche and ending in Quintana Roo with the triumphant arrival of the vehicles to Cancún.
The Maya Rally reaches its tenth edition this 2024, an event that has generated an economic benefit for the Yucatan Peninsula of 201 million pesos, thanks to the participants of this vintage car event.
Benjamín de la Peña, organizer of the Maya Rally, explained that this is divided between accommodations, air services, and expenses in the places, this being the 10th edition, one of the most important and that will lead them to visit Campeche, Yucatán and finishe the race in Quintana Roo.
“For this year we have a total of 85 cars that will be present in the 10th edition of the Maya Rally, which will take kick off on May 17, starting in Yucatán, to begin a route that covers Campeche and will end in Quintana Roo with the arrival in Cancun on May 24, although there will still be other events,” he added.
The event has brought nearly 1,890 hotel room reservations, more than 4,860 air services, 29 gala dinners in different destinations, and in addition, the Rally has generated the interest of major watch brands to make special editions, with a total of eight.
Added to this is the support provided in Social Responsibility, which totals four million pesos, this year, Vifac to the association that will be benefited.
Vifac is an organization that has shelters to house “helpless pregnant women.” They are given training workshops and medical care until the baby is born. If any of them want to give the chilld up for adoption, Vifac takes care of the procedures.
The 2024 route is scheduled in five stages, it will leave Mérida and visit towns such as Sisal, Halachó, Dzitbalché, to reach Campeche, thus starting the second part, and arriving at Edzná, Hopelchén, Uxmal, Kabah, then in The third route returns to Yucatán to visit Valladolid, Las Coloradas, San Felipe, Espita and then visit Tihosuco, Cobá, Tulum, Playa del Carmen and finish in Cancún.
Benjamín de la Peña added that after this edition they will be increasing their presence in the Maya World to also include Tabasco, and Chiapas. The idea is to reach Central America through the international roads in coming editions.
