The candidate for mayor of Mérida Cecilia Patron offers discounts on property taxes for actions in favor of the environment
The discount will be for those who participate in tree planting and use clean energy
To help mitigate the impact on the environment, the candidate for mayor of Mérida, Cecilia Patrón, announced that she will give discounts on property taxes to those who use clean energy and participate in tree planting activities.
As part of the “Green and Sustainable” axis of the 2024-2027 Government Plan “One single Mérida”, Cecilia will encourage more sustainable practices through discounts on property taxes for owners who use, among other sustainable solutions, solar panels.
“Planting a tree in each house will lower the temperature throughout the city because they provide shade and produce oxygen. The commitment is that citizens plant the trees at home and take care of them so that together we have a more tree-lined Mérida,” said the candidate.
Cecilia Patrón stressed that her administration will seek financial mechanisms so that Merida residents can access different sustainable solutions in their homes to enhance transversal actions focused on sustainability and promoting clean energy.
