A dog named Lía was burned with boiling water when she took shelter from the sun in the municipality of Motul, Yucatán.
The case of animal abuse was made known on social networks by the Peluditos Felices A.C. collective, whose members supported veterinary care for Lía.
On Wednesday, May 15, a man from Motul threw boiling water at a dog named Lía when she was sheltered under a tree at her owners’ home.
According to the complaint, it was a neighbor of the family who poured hot water on Lía’s head. The reasons for the attack are unknown.
The subject caused multiple injuries to both Lía’s skin and fur, including second and third-degree burns on her head.
The collaborators of ‘Peluditos Felices’ went to Lía’s home to support with the veterinary service and accompaniment. Lía is recovering satisfactorily, they announced.
Besides a complaint was filed with the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) of Yucatán.
“We hope that action is taken on the case since we were able to find out that this is not the first time that this man has hurt the animals,” the group wrote on their social networks.
We remember that with the “Rufo Law” in Yucatán, a person who commits abuse or violence against an animal can face up to 10 years in prison.
