Man is attacked with a knife in Sucilá, Yucatán

A Yucatecan citizen by the name of José Dolores Gijón Pech was seriously injured with a knife on a property in this community on Sunday, May 26th, and was transferred to the San Carlos de Tizimín hospital where he is reported in critical condition.

According to official information, shortly after five in the afternoon, the state police received a report that a man was injured on 18th Street between 9 and 11 in the municipality of Sucilá.

They immediately moved to the scene along with paramedics from the Ministry of Public Security (SSP), who assessed the injured person. The rescuers said that he had an injury on the left side at chest.

The injured man explained that he was drinking alcoholic beverages at the home of a person known as “Choya” whose real name is Edgardo O. Y., where he was attacked by Jesús B., known as “Enoch.”

The attacker was able to board his motorcycle and flee the crime scene.

The police officers managed to find the person responsible for the attack and transferred him to the State Attorney General’s Office.
