Luxury hotel under construction in Jaguar Park without environmental authorization

The construction of a luxury hotel in Tulum’s Jaguar Park is advancing rapidly under the supervision of the Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA).

This new resort complex will include 352 rooms, swimming pools, Spa, Temazcal, and other high-end amenities. In addition, the hotel will be strategically connected to the Maya Train station and the new Tulum International Airport.

However, concern has been raised due to the lack of transparency from the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (Semarnat) to the project’s Environmental Impact Statement (MIA). The same as the Maya Train Project.

So far, the information available is limited to documents related to another Mayan Train hotel in Edzná, Campeche, which has left many unanswered questions about the actual environmental impact of the construction in Jaguar Park.
