With the opening towards new investment projects and the diversification strategy, promoted by the current state administration, Campeche (with a growth of 5.3%) was positioned in the first months of 2024 as the fourth Mexican state with the greatest economic development.
Based on information collected by the Secretariat of Economic Development in the entity, it has been possible to confirm the positive indicators in primary activities such as agriculture, fishing, and livestock, as well as in the production of honey and other non-oil items that include trade and construction, which generates confidence in the variety of products and services to consolidate a diversified economy.

The great trigger for these very favorable percentages was the construction of the Mayan Train and its complementary infrastructure, which directly impacted at least 31 towns in five Campeche municipalities.
With a whole series of characteristics such as its outstanding level of security, strategic geographical position, availability of water, land connectivity, and qualified labor, Campeche is in the sights of international companies such as CEWS, which chose it among 10 cities in the country. to establish one of its plants specialized in manufacturing automotive harnesses for Kia and Hyundai cars.
With the entry of CEWS in the southern lands of Campechana, an initial labor offer of 2,200 jobs was opened, a figure that is expected to increase considerably in the medium term, based on the expected growth expectations in automotive manufacturing.
But precisely in terms of the labor market, Campechanos also shows a positive balance, since after going through the post-pandemic recovery process, thousands of citizens managed to leave informality, according to the National Occupation and Employment Survey (ENOE), published by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI).
