The mayor on leave issued a message about the future of his position.

Through social networks, the mayor of Mérida on leave, Renán Barrera Concha, announced that he would not resume his public function as Mayor of the state capital.

«I am fully convinced that the administration of our city is in excellent hands with the interim Mayor Alejandro Ruz, who puts all his leadership, experience, and commitment to the well-being of all citizens» Barrera Concha expressed.

Barrera Concha assured that the city is in the process of handing over the office based on mechanisms of transparency and efficiency.

Later he expressed his gratitude for the trust of those who supported him.

«I thank everyone for their support and trust throughout my administration and I am sure that great years are coming for our Yucatecan capital» Barrera Concha concluded.
