Police officers in Monterrey, Nuevo León arrested a man who tried to derail the steam locomotive “La Emperatriz”. The man identified as Inés ‘M’, 33 years old, originally from the state of Tamaulipas, was arrested when he was placing stones and wiring on the train tracks to sabotage its passage.
According to Milenio, it was around 1:00 p.m. last Monday, June 10, when the incident occurred at the intersection of Aarón Sáenz and Díaz Ordaz, in the Santa María neighborhood.
Municipal police officers were carrying out a surveillance operation in the area when they received a report about a man who was trying to board the train, threatening the railroad drivers.
After his arrest, the man was transferred to the Monterrey Police facilities and later placed at the disposal of the Attorney General’s Office (FGE) for the resulting crimes.
This is the third incident recorded in the passage through Mexico of “La Emperatriz”, a steam locomotive that left Canada and passed through our country and the United States.
First, a woman died after being hit by the “La Emperatriz” Locomotive; and another man was caught on camera trying to hang from the locomotive but fell.
