Kanasín public schools offer free internet

The “Yucatán Digital” program already has full coverage of free fiber optic internet in the 55 public schools in the municipality of Kanasín, indicates a bulletin.

In this way, the program has connected 100% of its schools in this municipality: 22 preschools, 25 primary schools, six secondary schools, and two high schools.

Kanasín is joined by the municipalities of Abalá, Baca, Bokobá, Cacalchén, Cansahcab, Cantamayec, Celestún, Chacsinkín, Chapab, Chicxulub Pueblo, Chocholá, Chumayel, Conkal, Cuzamá, Dzán, Dzemul, Dzidzantún, Dzilam de Bravo, Dzilam González, Halachó, Hocabá, Hoctún, Homún, Huhí, Ixil and Kantunil.

Likewise, Kinchil, Kopomá, Mama, Maní, Mayapán, Muna, Muxupip, Río Lagartos, Sacalum, San Felipe, Sanahcat, Seyé, Sinanché, Sotuta, Sucilá, Sudzal, Suma, Tahmek, Teabo, Tekal de Venegas, Tekantó, Tekit, Telchac Pueblo, Telchac Puerto, Teya, Tixkokob, Tixpéhual, Xocchel, Yaxcabá and Yaxkukul.

The head of the Ministry of Education of Yucatán (Segey), Liborio Vidal Aguilar, highlighted that this program increases the educational quality of children and young people by closing the technological and digital gap, with benefits without distinction for all public schools in the state.

Vidal Aguilar also highlighted that the general progress of the program is more than 85% and progress continues so that all schools in Yucatán have this tool that seeks to facilitate administrative and teaching tasks, with an exclusive focus on educational purposes, for which has a secure browsing system that includes content protection and filtering.
