The transportation system in Yucatán takes another step on the technology route by presenting the Yucatán Transportation Agency (ATY) together with Mobility ADO the BUSLAB project, a living laboratory that will be circulating through units of the Va y Ven public transport system.

Yucatan is generating new ideas to improve the user experience and in which Yucatán was chosen for its high technology in the service.

The Va y Ven is a system that has not stopped innovating since the units have Internet and USB ports, the mirrors have 11 cameras that provide an evaluation of the driver, and the Va y Ven app has had more than 300 thousand downloads allowing the user can plan their trip and with ChatBus it is easy to serve people through a cell phone message, a technology that does not exist in other parts of the country or Latin America and that allows us to continue innovating with strategies such as BUSLAB.

Within the framework of the Smart City Expo Latam Congress, the head of the ATY, Rafael Hernández Kotasek, and the director of Mobility Solutions LATAM MOBILITY ADO, Juan Carlos Abascal Álvarez signed a collaboration agreement with which starting next week they will begin operating the 2 BUSLAB demo units, one through the Ie-Tram, the first 100% electric route in the Southeast, and another on the Peripheral Circuit, which will provide coverage for nearly 30,000 people every day.

The BUSLAB units that Yucatecans will be able to identify due to their innovative design, have a device with which the user can carry out a satisfaction survey during their transfer, a tool with which information will be collected, analyzed, and will be essential to take actions. for constant improvement of the service. The other initiative is about the opportunity for users to be able to report objects forgotten on buses with a QR code with which the owners can claim them, creating a co-responsible society.

“Technology and innovation help us plan and provide a good service, since by generating information we can use it to make continuous improvement in the public transport service and this is how we obtain a better result by making this type of technology available to the user to carry out reports, suggestions, the evaluation itself and areas for improvement to improve the travel experience,” said Hernández Kotasek.

In the presentation, the director of Mobility Solutions LATAM MOBILITY ADO, Juan Carlos Abascal Álvarez assured that the Va y Ven System in a few years has completely changed the transportation system in Yucatán and today the entity has the most modern electrical unit that exists in Mexico, in addition to now having an acceptance of more than 60% by citizens.

“We are in a digital era in which we cannot continue thinking that transforming public transport is only about changing the buses, but it is also the technological part and we must continue serving and listening to users through strategies such as BUSLAB, which They should feel proud in Yucatán,” said Abascal Álvarez.

The head of the ATY thanked Mobility ADO for choosing the state for the launch of the BUSLAB, which, together with the Government of the State of Yucatán, made it possible for these two initiatives to be carried out thanks to the base technology that is already advancing on the route today. of innovation to dignify public transport.
