In the early hours of this Tuesday, July 16th, a robbery was committed at a BBVA bank branch located in Merida’s Santa Rosa neighborhood.

Although not much information was provided about the case, it was said that the robbery was committed in the window area. “They forced the door to enter,” commented one of the place’s employees who announced to users that the bank branch was not providing service.

At the site, private security forces who were keeping the place safe could be observed at the request of the Public Security Secretariat, which, during the early morning hours, carried out the procedures at that place.

Employees also waited at the bank’s doors until they were given access to the branch but under various restrictions.

So far no further information has been given about whether they were able to any money and how much it would be.

This is an unprecedented fact in Mérida, Yucatán.
