An elderly man lost his life in a hotel in the Center of Mérida where he was accompanied by his romantic partner.

The events occurred this Thursday in a hotel located on 65th Street at 50th and 48th, where the grandfather, identified as Gilberto “N”, 77 years old, stayed there accompanied by a woman.

Around 9:30 p.m., the woman went to the reception to ask for help, since her companion was not responding to her calls after having a seizure.

Apparently, Don Gilberto went into the bathroom, but when he saw that time was passing and he didn’t come out, he got worried and went into the bathroom, finding him lying on the floor.

They immediately called the 911 emergency number and within minutes elements of the Municipal Police arrived at the site, as well as paramedics, who unfortunately nothing could be done for the man because he no longer had vital signs.

The site was cordoned off and the staff of the State Attorney General’s Office was notified to remove the body.

According to information collected, the man probably died from an acute myocardial infarction.
