Vehicles put turtle nesting areas in Yucatán at risk

The Telchac Puerto Municipal Police seized two vehicles traveling in a sea turtle nesting area.

In response to several reports, municipal authorities seized a Razer (all-terrain vehicle) and an ATV owned by M.A.M.C., 54 years old, detained in the operation.

The operation responded to several phone calls that alerted the authorities about vehicles on the beach that put the nests at risk.

At the scene, police officers seized the vehicles and took them to the police headquarters. Last April, the Municipal Police confiscated an ATV traveling on the beach, putting the nesting area at hazard.
