In recent days, in the municipality of Bokobá in Yucatán, a new case of alleged torture and attempted murder by members of the Municipal Police has emerged.
BOKOBA, YUCATAN.- The events occurred on Tuesday, August 6th, when local police officers detained a 44-year-old man without any reason and then started to beat him up.
Local authorities have already identified five people who may be involved in the case.
The man shared as part of his testimony that he was detained without any reason near the local cemetery and was then beaten without reason.
Upon reaching kilometer 2 of the Bokobá-Kopté junction, they took him down and threw him into the woods.
According to witnesses who came to help the man, he had injuries to his face, arms, abdomen, chest, forearms, legs, and wrists, so they went to the municipal command.
This was how the data was recorded, while local authorities deny that there are cases of torture in the state.
Faced with the emergency, witnesses called the 9-1-1 emergency number where they requested an ambulance from the Public Security Secretariat (SSP), whose paramedics treated the victim, who had to be transferred to the Agustín O’Horán hospital in Mérida due to his multiple injuries and fractures.
There is already a formal complaint from relatives before the State Attorney General’s Office.
