Claudia Sheinbaum appointed former senator Citlalli Hernández Mora as the next head of the Women’s Secretariat.
Appointments continue in the presidential cabinet. Claudia Sheinbaum, president-elect of Mexico, appointed former legislator Citlalli Hernández Mora as the next head of the Women’s Secretariat, formerly known as the National Institute for Women.
“I made the decision to transform the National Institute for Women into a Secretariat and the head of the new Women’s Secretariat is Citlalli Hernández Mora,” Sheinbaum revealed on Monday, August 19.
In front of the media, Sheinbaum highlighted the work of Hernández Mora, whom she described as one of the youngest women in her cabinet at 34 years old, in addition to the fact that, she said, she has been a feminist activist in different social movements.
After being appointed, Citlalli Hernández thanked Sheinbaum for the new position and promised not to leave any woman unprotected and to ensure that she has better living conditions, with greater equality and without discrimination.
