U.S. Ambassador to Mexico, Ken Salazar, tests positive for COVID and cancels his trip to Mérida.

Five days ago, the U.S. Consulate in Merida announced a press conference with Ambassador Ken Salazar and the new Consul Justen Thomas on Wednesday, August 21, at 12:30 p.m., where topics of national interest would be addressed.

However, the press conference with U.S. Ambassador Ken Salazar that was to take place at the U.S. Consulate, Merida (Calle 60 no. 338K x 29 y 31 Col. Alcalá Martín, Mérida, Yucatán), was canceled at the last minute.

Finally, the U.S. Consulate announced the cancellation of Ambassador Ken Salazar’s trip to Merida due to health issues (COVID infection), so the press conference on August 21 at the Consulate and other scheduled meetings had to be canceled.
