On Wednesday, September 4, Mexico’s medal haul continued at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. Now it was Juan Pablo Cervantes in the 100m T54 para-athletics event.

The Mexican athlete was crowned champion after achieving a time of 13.74 seconds, followed by the Thai Athiwat Paeng-Nuea, who took silver by recording 13.79 seconds, and finally, the Finn Leo-Pekka Tähti took bronze with a time of 13.86

In the final of this event, Juan Pablo Cervantes was the only Latin American competitor.

It should be noted that this is the third gold medal for the Mexican delegation at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, and the 11th in total. With four days to go until the end of the sporting event, there is hope that Mexico can still accumulate some medals.
