The driver of a red Ford Mustang sports car, carelessly crashed his vehicle in the early morning hours of September 4 on the Mérida-Progreso highway, right at the entrance to the Las Américas subdivision.
Fortunately, the vehicle was left with costly material damage but there were no people injured.
The car was traveling at excessive speed on the wet pavement, the driver lost control of the steering wheel and went to the right, until he went up onto the median strip where he crashed on his right side against a public lighting pole, which he knocked down.
Paramedics arrived at the scene, but upon examining the driver, it appeared that there was nothing serious, and the determination of responsibility was handled by officers of the National Guard.
