The Municipal President of Mérida, Cecilia Patrón Laviada, turned on the new lighting of the Xmatkuil road and 50th Avenue that goes to the Periférico with more than 200 LED lamps.
Accompanied by neighbors of the community, she showed the system that gives more light, represents significant energy savings, and is friendly to the environment, and that will reach the entire city in the following months.
At the same time, 1,114 sodium vapor lights are being replaced in the Emiliano Zapata Sur and San Antonio Xluch neighborhoods, which will become the first areas with fully LED lighting.
In the community of Xmatkuil, Cecilia Patrón removed the switch that illuminated 50th Street South from Xmatkuil to the Periférico with LED lamps.
“These lights not only provide a brighter light that illuminates better and replaces the yellow light that has little reach, but they also allow for significant energy savings and care for the environment,” concluded the mayor.
