On Monday, the 9th, at 2:25 p.m., the Municipal Police of Merida in coordination with the Fire Department of the Public Security Secretariat captured a badger that was on the public road, on 50th Street between 69th and 71st.

The events were recorded when elements of this corporation were informed that the badger was trying to enter premises located at the aforementioned address. Upon arriving at the scene, unit 205 confirmed the report and proceeded to report it to the fire department of the Public Security Secretariat, with unit 855 arriving at the site to support the capture of the animal.

Once captured, it was placed in a transport cage, for its transfer by the Animal Protection Unit to the corporation’s facilities for its subsequent shipment to the El Centenario Zoo for medical evaluation, so that it can be placed in a safer habitat.
