Tourism promoters presented Costa Rica as an emerging destination to members of Yucatan travel agencies and a travel exchange between the Central American country and the state.

The Central American country is one of the favorite places for international tourism since it has natural reserves and experiences of all kinds.

“Costa Rica is a destination to enjoy the Caribbean, the volcanoes, the hot springs, the city. Mexicans are traveling more to this destination, so we are promoting it through the Ministry of Tourism,” said Edgar Chávez Guillén, general manager of Juliá Tours in Mexico.

Like Mexico, Costa Rica has access to the Pacific and part of the Caribbean, so its beaches are one of the most popular for tourists. These beaches include Tortuguero, Guanacaste, and Arenal, as well as the coffee area.

Among the activities that can be done in Costa Rica, extreme sports stand out, such as kayaking in its rivers or zip lining between its mountains. However, activities that are more focused on body care and that include the whole family can also be carried out.

Currently, there is no direct connectivity from Yucatán to Costa Rica; to take a flight to this Central American country you have to make a stopover in Mexico City or Guadalajara, a point from where you can travel to San José, the country’s capital.

For Mexico, Costa Rica is not one of the most economical destinations, however, there are many reasons to take it in the travel agenda, since Juliá Tours has a wide variety of inclusive offers for all budgets.

“It is a destination that is very accessible. Regarding tourism that comes to Costa Rica, there is everything. There is a lot of European, a lot of Canadian and American. We are the third destination worldwide,” he noted.
