An employee of a department store in this city was able to react quickly and snatch the bags from a subject who was trying to take out several items without paying.
The events took place on 20th Street and 11th Street in the center of Umán, in said company, where a young employee had already identified a guy who, minutes before, went around the store, taking several items and buying them in yellow bags with the logo of the business.
This was to make people and workers believe that he had bought the items.
But he did not count on the fact that he had already been ‘caught’ in the maneuvers, so they waited for him at the exit.
He was already a few steps away from leaving the premises when the employee V. M. R. asked him to show her his purchase receipt, to verify if the items paid for were correct.
Seeing that they asked for the receipt, the young man continued on his way to the door.
It was there that the young woman snatched the two bags that the thief was carrying from his hands.
After the struggle, the thief managed to escape, followed by two men who, upon seeing what had happened, did not hesitate to try to catch him.
In his run and to mislead his followers, he took refuge inside another nearby store.
Likewise, the Municipal Police proceeded to wait for this person to leave the store to arrest him.
After being handcuffed, he was taken to the store to be fully identified as Geovanni A. R. C., 32 years old.
