The discovery of Mayan archaeological relics in the area where work was being carried out to install the charging system for electric units of the Va y Ven transport that will provide the service in the municipality of Tekax required the intervention of specialists.

It also led to the operation start of this service no longer being in September. However, the arrival of the Va y Ven System to this town is a fact, reported the Yucatán Transportation Agency (ATY).

In a statement, the organization reported that during the work being carried out for constructing the switching yard and electric station for the electrical units, the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) found archaeological pieces from the Mayan culture.

For this reason, work was stopped for more than a month, which postponed what was scheduled for the implementation of the Va y Ven Transportation System in this town in the southern cone of Yucatán.

During this time, the specialists inspected the area and the archaeological rescue and rescue actions of the pieces found.

Once it was guaranteed that the area was free of remains, the INAH recently provided the corresponding authorization to continue with the works.

The ATY indicated that the Yucatán Highway Infrastructure Institute (INCAY) will soon resume work in the area, guaranteeing that the Va y Ven System route will be a reality in the municipality of Tekax.

It is worth remembering that, in Tekax, the Va y Ven System will arrive through innovative 100% electric Kinglong units adopted by the Yucatecans as “mini va y ven”. The electric units are 6 meters long and have an accessible design with a sliding door in the middle, a low entrance for seniors and people with disabilities, a ramp, and a wheelchair area. With the Tekax Route, it is estimated that it will soon benefit more than 45 thousand people.
