AMLO to inaugurate the first seven-car on the Cancun-Merida route

On Friday, September 20th, AMLO will inaugurate the first seven-car Maya Train on the Cancun-Merida route

He will also inaugurate one of the hotels that are part of the project which is located in Chichén Itzá

The president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, announced on Wednesday, September 18th, during his morning press conference that on Friday, September 20, he will inaugurate the first seven-car train of the Maya Train project, which will take off at the Cancun station heading to the Mérida-Teya station.

“We are going to inaugurate the seven-car train, which has a restaurant and bedrooms, so we are going to inaugurate it from Cancun to Merida and we are also going to go to Chichén Itzá, where there will be governors expecting us,” said the president.

Also on Friday, he will hold the morning press conference at the National Palace and then move to Cancun, where he will take the train and get off at the Chichén Itzá station. The Maya Train Hotel will be inaugurated there, one of the six located on the route of the railway project; it will also tour the archaeological zone.

“We are going to inaugurate the hotel and from there to Mérida and in Mérida there we will rest and finish (in the Yucatán Peninsula) because we continue with the president to supervise the road from Oaxaca to the isthmus and that same day we are going to deliver certificates of construction of more than 200 artisanal roads,” the president explained.
