MÉRIDA, Yuc., October 6, 2024.- So that Merida families have more and better options for recreation and healthy coexistence, Municipal President Cecilia Patrón Laviada announced the return of “La Biciruta” to the magical neighborhood of “La Ermita”.
“The city is for the enjoyment of everyone, so we will work hard to adapt spaces and streets for those who use bicycles for transportation and recreation, even throughout the metropolitan area.”
The Mayor made the bicycle tour from the Monument to the Fatherland to the Plaza Grande greeting Merida residents and tourists to hear suggestions for improvement for the city. Accompanied by the director of Human Welfare, Jesús Pérez Ballote, and the deputy director of sports, Iván Herrera Rosiles, she supervised and thanked the work of the traffic guides, as well as the large community of artists, companies, and organized groups that participate in the route.
“La Biciruta” is a successful public program that promotes the identity, coexistence, and unity of Merida families, which is why it will have a permanent boost”, concluded the Mayor.
