Mayor Cecilia Patrón announced that the edition of this Animas Festival will have a new attraction. The San Juan Park will be illuminated with more than 100 lights, in addition to having monumental figures between two and five meters.
After the presentation of the seventh Mucbipollo Fair that will be held on Sunday, October 27 in the San Sebastián neighborhood, the municipal president pointed out that these lights and monumental figures will be installed around the celebration of the Day of the Dead and all the multiculturalism this celebration involves our entire country.
She pointed out that the municipality will create this space so that people can see monumental figures between two and five meters, such as a catrina, but it is also expected that there will be skulls, mestizas, and lanterns, among other figures, this in order to continue living traditions in the various public spaces of the municipality. Patron Laviada commented that this attraction will be inaugurated next Sunday, October 20, and it is expected to be installed for all Merida residents for four weeks, during which time people will be able to visit the park and take photos with these figures and witness more than 100 lights and structures to be installed.
