Agents from the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) of Quintana Roo, in collaboration with National Guard personnel, carried out an operation that resulted in the rescue of 14 women victims of sexual exploitation in a business in Playa del Carmen.

In addition, during the search, a man accused of being involved in human trafficking crimes was also arrested.

In a statement, the FGE announced the details of the operation, which is added to other similar actions in this same municipality against human trafficking and other high-impact crimes.

Likewise, it was announced that the operation was carried out in a location located on the Cancún-Tulum federal highway, between Juárez Avenue and 1 South Street. During the search, 14 women were rescued, 10 Mexican and 4 from Peru, Colombia, Argentina and Venezuela, respectively.

In addition, Adrián “N” was arrested; he is identified as the person in charge of the establishment, where women were forced to offer sexual services to people who came to that place.

It was detailed in the initial investigations that Adrián “N” was in charge of interviewing possible victims, taking advantage of their economic vulnerability and the immigration status of the foreigners.

Under deception, and with promises of large profits to attract them to the premises, he offered them good profits.

In addition, the rescued women faced exploitative conditions, including being forced to provide numerous sexual services and fines for failing to comply with the manager’s orders. The statement also highlighted that, after the rescue, the agents placed security seals on the premises and took the women to the FGE to give their statement.
