Hurricane Oscar has formed near the Bahamas, according to the National Hurricane Center’s 2 p.m. EST update on Saturday.October 19
The storm has winds of 80 mph and is just east of the Turks and Caicos Islands. It will continue to move westward at 12 mph this weekend, before making a turn northeast toward the Atlantic.

At 11 a.m., it has maximum sustained winds of 40 mph.
A hurricane warning is in effect for the Southeast Bahamas and Turks and Caicos Islands.
Earlier on Saturday, Tropical Storm Nadine formed in the Caribbean Sea, just off the East Coast of Mexico.
In their 2 a.m. update, the disturbance formed into a tropical storm, after developing a closed circulation and defined center. The storm is currently moving at 8 mph with winds of 50 mph.
“Tropical Storm Nadine will be no threat to Florida or the United States,” Max Defender 8 Meteorologist Amanda Holly said. “In fact, it will be a very short-lived storm that will bring rain and gusty winds to portions of Central America as it makes landfall in just a few hours.”
Satellite data shows that the storm is broad, but slowly becoming more organized.
The NHC said flashing flooding is expected across southern Mexico, northern Guatemala, and northern Belize, while tropical storm conditions can be expected along the coasts of Belize and Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula.
