These women are true warriors who have defeated a great enemy: Cancer.

Within the framework of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Volunteers of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) in Yucatan and institutional authorities, headed by its state leader, Dr. Alonso Juan Sansores Río, delivered 45 Pink Bags to women survivors of this disease, during the ceremony called #Soy Rosa IMSS, which took place at the Breast Cancer Detection and Diagnosis Unit in the city of Mérida.

During his speech, Dr. Sansores Río recognized the patients for their tireless fight against this disease, for their trust in the Institution, which is their ally, and for being a constant example of love for life. He also thanked the IMSS Volunteers for their commitment and hard work to make the delivery of these Pink Bags possible; Likewise, she thanked the coordinated work carried out by the medical staff that make up the three levels of care and that provide the best follow-up to each of the patients who face this disease.

In this Pink Bag, patients will find a breast prosthesis, hand-made, which will help them to balance the body weight lost due to breast removal (mastectomy) and will allow them to eliminate spinal pain, as well as strengthen their self-esteem and confidence. Likewise, it contains various beauty and hygiene items.

The executive director of IMSS Volunteering in Yucatan, public accountant Emma Torres Arcila, assured that the manufacture of each of the breast prostheses has a specific weight according to the size and needs of each woman, they are sewn by hand and provides them with important physical and emotional benefits.
