This Friday, tourism workers at the port had their first opportunity of the month to generate income with the surprise arrival of the Carnival Miracle cruise ship, which was described as an extraordinary arrival, since it was not scheduled.

According to information from the National Port System (Asipona), the ship docked at 8:53 in the morning from Cozumel, and set sail for Galveston at 5 in the afternoon.

It brought 2,099 passengers and 904 crew members, with 3,003 visitors.

Its arrival became the first official one in November, since according to the calendar, the first ship that was to arrive was the Carnival Valor, on Tuesday the 5th.

This ship practically arrived to save the week despite three tourist boats arriving there in recent days, none of them left the expected profits due to the low presence of tourists who remained in the port.

On this day, a strong influx of visitors was observed, who left dollars flowing to the commercial sector for having bought souvenirs, food, and drinks, among others.

On the other hand, foreigners who walked the main streets saw that the shops, municipal market establishments, and street vendors’ stalls offered various items alluding to the Day of the Dead and Hanal Pixán.

The boardwalk workers indicated that between last night and this morning, they found out about the arrival of the Carnival Miracle, so they did not hesitate to go to the boardwalk to work.

In this way, Progreso will receive a total of 13 vessels this month, including this surprise vessel.

It should be noted that the arrivals may vary depending on external factors such as bad weather that could cancel arrivals. Practically, the final stretch of the year becomes an outdoor currency due to the entry of cold fronts.
