For the fourth consecutive year, the Mérida International Airport “Manuel Crescencio Rejón” would break the record in arrivals of travelers by seeking to approach four million in 2024, since only in the September cutoff it reached 3 million 200 thousand travelers.

After the pandemic, where they had low numbers due to the health contingency, the air terminal recovered by breaking its own records, this was accompanied by festive dates and vacations that gave it the rebound of trips and receptions of tourists.

Under this situation, in 2020 there was only a total of one million 297 thousand 308 movements of air passengers, which meant a decrease of 54 percent compared to 2019. Then in 2021, there was a total of 2 million 79 thousand 503 passenger movements.

By the end of 2024, they estimate approaching four million passengers transported by air. It will be triggered by two main events: the Xmatkuil 2024 International Fair and the end of the year, anticipating the first arrival of more people by air to participate, especially by ranchers looking for an opportunity to do business.
