Authorities in Playa del Carmen are investigating the possible reasons for the death of the person.
Violence in Playa del Carmen reaches the tourist zone as a man is found dead right on La Quinta Avenida.
Authorities moved on Monday, November 4th, to the corner of Juarez Avenue and Quinta Avenida, in downtown Playa del Carmen, after finding a man who died in public. So far, investigations continued into whether the death was violent or due to natural causes.
It was 11:30 a.m. on Monday, November 4, when the 9-1-1 emergency center received reports requesting an ambulance for a man found inert and with blood stains at the aforementioned intersection, near Parque Fundadores.
According to the preliminary report, upon arriving at the scene, authorities found the individual with alleged signs of violence, suggesting that he suffered blows before being found. When a medical unit arrived, unfortunately, the individual no longer had vital signs, so his body was covered with a blue surgical blanket.
Witnesses in the area have described the deceased as a homeless man who was wearing black shorts and socks of the same color.
Agents from the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Homicides and criminal experts also arrived at the scene to carry out the investigations and transfer the body to the Forensic Medical Service to determine whether the death was violent or due to natural causes.
