The influenza vaccination campaign, promoted by the State government through the Yucatan Health Secretariat (SSY), reports progress of 35%, according to the cutoff of epidemiological week number 45.

The state government says this strategy, initiated for the 2024-2025 winter season, aims to apply 632,437 doses in the state.

The campaign is focused on protecting the most vulnerable population from serious forms of the disease, especially given the increase in cases recorded in recent years during this season.

The SSY called on citizens to go to health centers and vaccination modules, highlighting that the vaccine is free and available to the priority population: children from 6 to 59 months, adults over 60 years of age, health personnel, pregnant women, and people aged 5 to 59 years with diseases such as uncontrolled diabetes, morbid obesity, COPD, asthma, kidney failure, immunosuppression, cancer, and HIV/AIDS.

For this 2024-2025 season, the quadrivalent vaccine against seasonal influenza is used, and it is available in all state health sector institutions.

Finally, it was reported that until epidemiological week 45, 95 accumulated cases of influenza were recorded.
